VALENTINE’S DAY & THE QUIET POWER OF FRAGRANCE

Valentine’s Day has always felt centred around one kind of love and for some that makes it a lonely time. It’s often loud, performative, full of expectation. But the moments that stay with us rarely announce themselves that way. They arrive quietly. In atmosphere. In how a space feels when the world slows down.  The love I value most lives in the spaces we create every day — for our partners, our families, for ourselves, and for the people who share memories with us every day.

That belief sits at the heart of why I started COVA.

Fragrance has an extraordinary ability to shape emotion without demanding attention. It doesn’t ask to be noticed, yet it changes everything. A room can feel calmer, warmer, more intimate — not because something has been added, but because something has been softened. Scent works beneath the surface, anchoring memory and mood in a way very few things can.

JASMIN D’OR was created with that idea in mind.

I wanted a candle that felt light in the room, but grounding at the same time. Bright bergamot brings clarity to the air. White jasmine adds a clean, refined softness. Amber settles everything, leaving warmth without heaviness. The result is a fragrance that doesn’t dominate a space — it supports it.

February being the perfect month to launch this fragrance.

Whether you’re sharing the evening with someone you love, friends around the table, or simply enjoying your own company, the atmosphere you create sets the tone. A softly scented room invites presence. It allows conversation to linger. Silence to feel comfortable. Moments to unfold naturally, without pressure.

What I love most about fragrance is how it holds memory. Long after the candle has burned down, a familiar scent can bring you back to a feeling — laughter around the table, quiet moments on the sofa, the simple comfort of being home together.

That, to me, is a different kind of love.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t need to be exclusive or extravagant to be meaningful. Sometimes it’s about setting the tone for warmth, connection and care — in ways that feel genuine and lasting.

For me, that is where meaning lives.
